The area provides some cool as visitors may soak in some of the water spray from the fountain. The Waterwall, which boasts of a whopping 11,000 gallons cascading down a beautiful 64 feet tall wall covered in lights, serves as a perfect backdrop to take magical pictures. It is a simple spot of 2 acres lined with large Oak trees to be enjoyed either or on a solo date or on a romantic walk with that special someone. 

The park is open every day of the week from 8am – 9pm and offers free admission. 

THE HOUSTON ZOO 

Housing over 6,000 animals, the Houston Zoo is the one of the largest zoos in the United States. It is the second most visited zoo in the United States of America as it exhibits a wide range of exotic animals not commonly found in the States. The Zoo hosts various events and has daily schedules stating the times for various exhibitions. It is a fun and exciting place to visit as a family as they have many attractions to be enjoyed by both adults and children of all ages. Ticket prices range from $37 to $45 depending on the day of the week, however, the Zoo offers tickets for free admission one Tuesday of every month, 20% discount for children ages 3-12, 20% discounts for seniors 65 and older and many more. 

DISCOVERY GREEN 

Discovery Green is a large park of approximately 12 acres situate in the downtown area of Houston. Its design is engaging and built to serve people of all ages, whether tourists or local. The park has a variety of food options located within the park such as the Grove and The Lake House which give experiences at both ends of the dining spectrum. With an all-glass exterior, the Grove provides an elegant dining space while the Lake House attracts people with its laid back, self-serve concept. 

Discovery Green has a ton of attractions like the Andrea and Bill White Promenade, a walkway that offers a 360-degree view of the Houston Skyline. It also has the Kinder Lake which features water gardens and a model boat area. The park has an art exhibition area where it displays new art works by artists Margo Sawyer and Doug Hollis. It is a relaxing space to take a walk, sight-see or just lay down and connect with the allure of nature at its finest. 

POST HTX 

A hub for events, food, culture and recreation, the Post HTX is a multiuse complex located in downtown Houston bursting at its seams with activities and excitement. The Post HTX building, which was formerly a Post Office was rather modern in style at the time it opened and many of its design elements have been preserved to create an eccentric space that shows a perfect fusion of contradictory old modern. 

The Post HTX offers a variety of activities from scheduled events and exquisite eateries to unique shops. It also hosts cultural or artistic exhibitions which are on all year round. The building houses a music hall, a 5,000-seat concert event venue, a 5-acre rooftop park amongst many other attractions. It is a ball of colors and energy good for a nice nighttime outing. Admission into the Post HTX is free. 

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF FUNERAL HISTORY 

Eager for a quick trip to the past, strap on your seat belts and pay a visit to the National Museum of Funeral History. The Museum provides an educational experience like no other with a large collection of authentic, historic funeral service items and antiques. The Museum provides featured exhibitions such as, the Most Famous Burial of All Time: The Shroud of Turin, Jazz Funerals of New Orleans, a Memoir for War Heroes, the History of Cremation, a George H.W Bush Memorial Exhibit amongst many others. 

The Museum allows for scheduled guided Tours which will be nice for a large tourist group or a school history class excursion, it has a unique gift shop carrying antiquities and also has event spaces available able to accommodate up to 300 guests. It is open everyday of the week and adult tickets are priced at $15 dollars with discounts available for certain groups of people and free admission for children under the age of 5.
